Wynonna Judd is expected to attend the Country Music Hall of Fame and museum’s medal ceremony on Sunday (01.05.22).
The 57-year-old singer announced on Saturday (30.04.22) that her mother and The Judds bandmate Naomi Judd had died at the age of 76, but she and her family urged the organization to continue the celebrations. Music legend.
And a representative for the Hall of Fame confirmed that Wynonna still plans to join The Judds, though plans for a public red carpet arrival have been scrapped altogether.
Kyle Young, CEO of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, said in a statement to Billboard: “We are shocked and saddened to learn of the death of Naomi Judd, who yesterday entered the Country Music Hall of Fame as a member of the Mother. -Daughter couple The Juds…Naomi overcame incredible adversities on her way to a pivotal place in music history. Her victorious life story is overshadowed by today’s sad news.
“Her family has asked that we continue to induct The Judds into the official Hall of Fame on Sunday. We will do so with a heavy heart and a heavy heart. Naomi and daughter Winona’s music will live on.”
