“Who will link back to the sandwich shop?” – Anonymous SEO Expert

There is a common view that local link building may not be beneficial, may not be natural, or (in some cases) may seem impossible.

But this is the reason why those doing local SEO may need to be more creative than those doing SEO for a huge brand.

Local link opportunities may not have the same diversity as national or global link options. You’re fighting to rank for hyperlocal keywords that don’t have a lot of search volume, and you’ll be dealing with websites with less authority to begin with.

To answer the anonymous quote above, here are some types of local links you can make for a sandwich shop:

  • Local newspapers or media outlets that feature local food.
  • Local bloggers who have a small but that entire following are within your target area.
  • Local event pages that write content about what to do in an area – tourist places, downtown directory, chamber of commerce, etc.
  • Other local businesses that also have websites and are open to having “local partners” pages or “businesses we love” pages.
  • Provides a featured volunteer page for local charities the business owner can sponsor or volunteer for.
  • tourism websites.
  • Local organization and group sites.

If you are doing SEO for a local location, it is important to understand where the boundaries of that local location are and make that location your new earth.

Everything you do to promote this business is within the limits of what you have set.

Understanding your limitations will allow you to think more creatively and effectively spot opportunities, which will ultimately lead to the most value for the business website you are working on.

Open a Links Tool and Start Exploring Possibilities

as far as i remember, ahrefs And luxurious Links have been the standard for research.

However, it is worth noting that semrush Has come a long way with upgrading its database and now claims to be the largest backlink database. Sometimes it’s a good idea to use multiple tools!

To start listing your prospects, you first need to understand where the business stands in its scope and how competitive it will be to grow.

Start with the terms that you think will provide the most value for your business. Then see which businesses currently rank on the first page of the SERPs.

Collect a list of websites and see what links they have acquired in the past.

Compare the mutual relations between them and the various links they have acquired.

These are direct competitors, so most of the links will be related to the specific business you are working on.

Compare the lists you’ve gathered with the link profile of the site you’re currently working on and see where you’re lacking.

If you’re able to get all the Lynx that the competition has achieved, you’re able to stand on a more level playing field with respect to the Lynx.

How to Find More Link Opportunities

If you are caught up in your perceived competition for your place in search with regards to links, the natural next step for you is to get more links from your competition.

Explore other local businesses and where they have gained press coverage.

Doing so will help you understand how other companies not in our industry have built links in the same local location.

By looking at popular businesses in general within our local space, we can begin to find some of the low-hanging fruit of the opportunity to build links and find local authors, local blogs, and sites in general that local businesses want (or are supported) past.

Another method I’ve used is to find businesses with a lot of traction and Putting Your Website Through a Link Analysis Tool,

You can find a high traction business through review sites like Yelp.

Go to Yelp and search within your city and filter by the most reviewed business.

These businesses may not relate to your value proposition at all, but they provide a lot of information about opportunities to promote your site in a local location.

For example, the top Reviewed business for San Francisco was for Tartine Bakery.

If you put this site into the backlink analysis tool, you might be surprised by the results you get.

According to Ahrefs, this website has more than 3,000 links, I’m willing to bet you that not all of these are food related.

If you’re dealing with a small restaurant, you now have a goldmine of potential links that are local to your location, even if you’re not serving the same type of food.

Use this method with businesses that have received the most reviews and businesses in different verticals to get a variety of potential links.

When you are studying these lists, you will find links that are completely unrelated or unattainable. But that’s fine.

The whole point of this exercise is to find some diamonds in the rough and make connections with people in the local area who have some impact when possible.
