Game dev and modder WhistfulHopes has released several mods for Guilty Gear Strive since its release last year, and most recently games with mechanics from series regular Sin Kiske and even Goku-Dragon Ball FighterZ. Managed to add full characters in.
While there isn’t a playable mode, or at least there isn’t yet, WhistfulHopes released a video of Goku fighting seamlessly in Guilty Gear Strive on their Twitter. Where most modified characters in games like Strive are simply added cosmetic-skins on top of existing characters, Whistfulhops’ Goku is built from the ground up for Strive. modder explained in the comments That he had to build some DBFZ mechanics from scratch, including the Super Dash.
The modder later posted a follow-up video showing even more Goku gameplay, including special moves.
Wistfulhops recently launched a mod that Couple Series Regular Sin Tales In 2021, Strive became the first mod to add a completely unique custom character to the game. The mod includes a full custom moveset based on the previous game, as well as unique animations, colors, and even a new design for the character. Other projects released by WistfulHopes include: Guilty Gear Attempt PlusAn elaborate mode that aims to balance out the game’s existing roster, as well as work in mechanics and carry on from previous Guilty Gear games.
