While E3 2022 has been cancelled, industry veteran Geoff Keighley’s annual Summer Game Fest event is still going ahead, and now an official date and more details have been revealed.
Summer Game Fest Live! 2022 begins Thursday, June 9 at 11 a.m. PT / 2 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. GMT. Keighley will host the event, which promises game announcements and reveals, while also including Day of the Devs. It’s just ahead of the Microsoft and Bethesda showcase on June 12.
Last year’s Summer Game Fest Live! The event was a big show, including the first gameplay footage for Elden Ring and the announcement of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. Last year’s event featured a musical performance by Weezer, along with Ryan Reynolds, Jeff Goldblum, and Giancarlo Esposito.
However, nothing has been said yet about what to expect from Summer Game Fest Live! 2022. But organizers say viewers can look forward to “the world premiere, trailers, news and updates from the world’s top game developers and platforms.” In addition to being streamed on places like YouTube and Twitch, Summer Game Fest Live! 2022 will be Shown in some IMAX theaters.
As for the devs’ day, it will immediately follow the showcase, which includes several titles from independent game developers. 2022 is the 10th anniversary of Dev Diwas.
Gamescom is also expected to return this year with an in-person component. Full details of this summer’s video game convention event aren’t available yet, but keep checking back for more.
