New Google Attribute Helps Businesses Promote Sustainability

Google now allows businesses to display their commitment to environmentalism in their Google Business Profile.

It helps companies capitalize on growing eco-awareness among consumers in the wake of concerns about climate change and sustainability.

An increasing number of customers attach importance to eco-consciousness

In a survey conducted by Google, 82% Consumers reported sustainability as a top priority when making purchase decisions.

Reflecting this, it has rated “recycling” as one of its most popular searches, with an average popularity score of 81 out of 100.

Add Recycling to Business Profile

There are currently over 3,000 Google Business Profile categories, with attributes falling into two classifications: subjective and factual,

Subjective features are things such as whether a business is good for children or incidental. These are taken from the opinions of users who have reviewed the business.

Whereas factual features like recycling are retained by the business.

Adding Recycling to Google Business Profile only requires a few clicks. Start by navigating to the Info tab and clicking “Business From – Add Attributes.”

Selecting “Recycling” from the list of attributes will show the business profile in searches by those looking for ways to dispose of items in an environmentally friendly manner.

This new feature adds value to access, features, payment options and other general categories of consumers, including health and safety.
