How was the response to the trailer?

People don’t care about the trailer. They just want season 2 because they have been waiting for two years. They are saying ‘Come quickly, just’.

What was the reaction of Masaba and Vivek on the trailer?

Vivek hasn’t seen it yet but Masaba has. He found it very funny, he liked it.

Panchayat 2 is releasing a week after Masaba’s modder Love, Mumbai. How is your home environment? Is it competitive?

(laughs) Is this a matter of happiness (that is a good thing). Masaba Masaba’s second season is going to release in about 1-2 months. So, right now, Mazein is Mazein.

How was your experience reuniting with your co-stars Jitendra Kumar, Sunita Rajwar, Raghubir Yadav?

I have worked with Jeetu and Sunita in Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. We have a close type of friendship. So, it was great fun. As for Raghubir, I have known him for centuries. He’s a very nice boy. We were all looking forward to the shoot and hoping that it doesn’t happen during summers like the first season. But thankfully that didn’t happen. I think it should be good because we had a lot of interesting moments this season.

Wasn’t it shot at the same location?

Yes, same place, same village, same state.

You have always loved being close to nature…

Not in the first season, it was 45 degrees. But this time it was better. I enjoy being outside and shooting.

There are only a few days left for the release. how does it make you feel?

I’m nervous, of course. According to you, after working hard, your film can be good. But, there will always be panic about how people are going to react to the series but fingers crossed!

You recently wrapped the altitude. How was it working with Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, Anupam Kher and Sooraj Barjatya?

Unchai was a great experience. Every director is different and Sooraj ji is different. He works in peace. She is so soft spoken that you will hardly find her raising her voice on the sets, which creates a calm atmosphere. It was not a 12-13 hour shift, we worked 608 hours.

It was a very enjoyable shoot for me with Boman Irani, Anupam ji and Bachchan ji, I learned a lot from them. I also learned a lot from Suraj ji. He knows exactly what he wants, it’s not like you can’t give input. He listens to you and incorporates your suggestion if he likes them. It was such a pleasure working with him.

Something about your next projects?

Let me first tell you what I have shot before. I have shot for Alvida by Vikas Bahl. Maine Baa Ki Hai, a feature film by Hardik Gajjar. I also have a short film which was initially titled Oh My Dog but now it has been changed. I have done a film called Shiv Shastri Balbo in America with Anupam Kher. Then masaba masaba season 2 is coming and panchayat 2 also.
