Recently, actress Sangeeta Ghosh clapped back on Kamya Shalabh Dang for her comment on Ghosh’s viral Swarna Ghar Dupatta scene, saying that Dang is questioning the state of TV while working on the small screen. Now, Punjabi has reacted to this saying that Ghosh needs to introspect.
Sometime back a scene from Ghosh’s show Swarna Ghar went viral and was criticized for its lack of logic. Dang also tweeted, “This is why TV content gets degraded compared to movies and the web despite having some great actors”.
While Ghosh took the criticism coming at her with a pinch of salt, she was hurt by Dang’s statement and replied, “What a shame that a person who himself works in the industry is saying such a thing. . One who works for TV considers TV less than OTT and films, what should I say?
Her reaction left Dang wondering how Ghosh misinterpreted her words. Who is saying that TV is small… but look at the content being shown on TV. I am not demeaning any actor or television, but just saying that because of this kind of content people working in films and OTT TVs do not want to hire actors. It is because of him that TV actors take breaks to explore other avenues, to make a difference between their acting on the small screen,” she says.
The actor continues, “Sangita needs some classes to understand what I have written, and really get the meaning… Joke Toh her world is flying. I took up a serious topic with the hope that The content will change once the audience sees what we are trying to sell. Actually, Sangeeta is the one who quit TV around seven-eight years ago, when she was at the peak of her career. She decided to do a film. The TV was left for me.”
Dang wonders why Ghosh didn’t question the scene when it came to him, or discuss it with the creative team, or just improvise.
“I am a part of the television industry. I took all the criticism very personally. I felt like I was being made fun of. In my entire career, even in the early days, I haven’t done a scene like this , and when I felt there was something missing then I discussed it with the team. Because in the end I will be seen on screen, and it is my responsibility not to reduce the value of TV, and work so that the respect of TV remains intact. Stay. It was not good, ”says the actor.
In fact, Dang is shocked that a “senior actor” like Ghosh was involved in the scene, and wonders why he didn’t ask the relevant questions.
“Main Toh Salu Se Ihar Hi Hoon, Sangeeta is back on TV. I want to say to her, ‘Ma’am, go out and do a reality check’. You are the same person who went on TV because she was doing a film. There was also an interview in which he talked about not doing TV again and focusing on the film. What is she talking about, shame and all? Do what you tell yourself,” she concludes.
