Disclaimer: I haven’t taken all of the courses listed below, but I have taken a few, and I know at least one person who has recommended others.

They have also received many positive reviews from hundreds of others who have taken the course.

Without further ado, below are some of the best.

skillshare course

skillshare Allows you to start free for 14 days, and after that, it’s an annual fee of $96.00.

Once you have paid for membership, all classes within Skillshare are free.

If you don’t want to purchase a membership, the courses below can be purchased separately for anywhere from $10-20.

Still, I’ve added them to the list because you can get some courses for free during your 14-day trial.

1. Content Marketing: Blogging for Growth

This course is taught by Eric SiuCEO of Single Grain and founder of Growth Everywhere.

This 80-minute class will teach you different blog-writing styles, how to brainstorm a topic, and then develop your notes from a brainstorming session into a full-fledged blog post. He also goes into detail on how to create a catchy title and feature image.

It is a beginner course for business owners and marketers, and has a 95% positive review rate.

At the end of the course, you will have written an original blog post to share, which will hopefully be a first in a successful content marketing strategy!

2. Be a Better Blogger: Content Planning

it’s a course Andrea Goulet Ford Corgibytes, a team of expert developers that not only provides maintenance services, but also courses to boot!

Ford was an unknown name to me, but his loyal followers swear by his advice, so I gave the course a try and was very impressed.

She has worked with government agencies, Fortune 500 companies and many other companies across the board.

This topic sounds simple enough, but planning can get very complicated. She helps build a resource library for you to refer back to in the future, and she makes sure you plan thoroughly with three months of online content.

Udemy is probably the most popular avenue for online marketers when it comes to taking free classes.

They have free options (all mentioned below) as well as paid options and offer over 32,000 courses, 18,000 instructors, and 80+ course languages.

3. Content Marketing for B2B Enterprises

This course is best for B2B companies, but it is worth noting because it is one of the few good Udemy classes that are free.

It may sound unorthodox, but part of content marketing is knowing how to take advantage of all of WordPress.

It is important for SEO as well as user experience.

This is a basic course and is best for beginners, but it is essential if you have any questions about what WordPress has to offer.

Coursera courses are on the rise.

The education platform partners with top universities and organizations around the world and makes it easy for anyone to sign up (similarly except for Udemy, it’s a bit expensive and works with colleges and universities).

Coursera has one of the largest libraries of classes in all the different categories, so it’s one of my favorite platforms.

5. Content strategy for professional expertise

There are four parts to this course: “Attracting an audience,” “Managing content,” “Expanding the reach of your content,” and “Ensuring the impact of your content.”

The course concludes with a final capstone project where you use the knowledge gained in the previous four courses to design a content strategy package.

The course says it is designed for entry-level, for-profit, non-profit, volunteer and government enterprises, and is a great way to learn some of the basics of content marketing and how it relates to business strategy. can complete.

This is a beginner-level course, and if you spend about two hours per week in classes, you’ll finish in about four months.

The best part is that it’s completely free, although you have the option of getting a verified certificate from Northwestern University to complete the course for $49.00.

It’s the only course on the list that isn’t free, but it’s only $35 for eight hours of video, reading, and quizzes, which is pretty affordable for a Coursera course from the University of California, Irvine.

This course is unique because it is one of the few options that focus more on the actual act of writing as opposed to content marketing.

Naturally, a lot of it is writing for an online audience and online publications (though it does get in writing business proposals, memos, etc.). If you want to hone your writing skills, this single-course course is a great option.

7. HubSpot’s Inbound Certification

This course doesn’t focus specifically on writing or content marketing, but it is worth considering if you’re interested in how those two areas help with online strategy overall.

You learn everything from building landing pages, closing sales, and more.

HubSpot is one of the leading marketing resources on the web, featuring some of the best content on their five blogs, so their curriculum is undoubtedly top-notch.

Once you pass the course, you get a personalized badge and certificate that you can display on your website, email signature, LinkedIn profile, and more.

8. Online Marketing Institute: Content Storytelling Rules for Digital Marketers

Like Skillshare, the online marketing institute offers a free trial that allows you to try out any course you want.

They have 70 different content marketing classes to choose from, all sorted by beginner, intermediate and advanced level.

Content storytelling class is very unique as it helps you to understand the basics of storytelling and how you can be creative so that your content is more engaging.

Creativity is something that is lacking in many professions, so this is a great course to take if you want to step outside your comfort zone.

Conclusion

There is a great demand for good content writers, and we don’t see this changing any time soon.

It is possible to earn a full time income only through content writing if you take the time to learn about the business.

The above list is a great starting point if you are looking to expand your content writing skills, but it is by no means an all-inclusive list.
